FILMTRADE x 48HFP - Seattle
48HFP Seattle is partnering with FilmTrade to provide film teams with an easy way to distribute their shorts at and after their Premiere Screening!
All team leads have the option to set up a FilmTrade page for their short, enabling the team to order FilmTrade cards for their film.
This is an opt-in offer, for any film teams who want to participate. Team leaders are able to place an order by using the button below, and logging in with the same email used for the 48 HFP Seattle registration.
All orders must be placed by July 20th to guarantee they’ll be available for your premiere screening; orders after that date are accepted and we will do our best to get them ready in time, but are not guaranteed.

HOW TO USE AT 48HFP SCREENINGS
Some ways that Filmtrade cards can be used (after your 48 HFP Premiere Screening):
-
A physical keepsake for all of your 48 HFP team members, that makes it easy to for them to watch anywhere and show friends and family the film they worked on
-
Secure screeners to give away to VIPs at film festivals and other networking events (e.g. we recently met a major filmmaker in person, and were able to hand them a secure copy of a film on FilmTrade that they could take and watch; we didn’t have to ask for their contact info, and we didn’t have to give them an insecure unlisted link)
-
Gifts - whether perks for a later crowdfunding campaign, or presents to loved ones, many of audience supporters love getting something tangible, and want to collect your work.
-
FilmTrade cards are also a new way to actually distribute and make money from your film – including at the 48 HFP Premiere Screenings, if you wish!
FilmTrade will be operating a merch table at the Premiere Screenings where the audience can purchase cards after the screening, for any films that wish to make them available in that way.
More information below.
If you’d like, you can also sell your FilmTrade cards
-
As part of FilmTrade’s partnership with The 48 Hour Film Project Seattle, if you want to sell cards at the Premiere Screenings, FilmTrade can take care of the selling for you, via our staffed merch table.
After the screenings, all of the sales proceeds (less fees described below) will be distributed back to you (details on the payout timing and fees are below)
-
We recommend short film cards be priced at $5-10. Setting the price is your decision.
-
Our point-of-sale app / credit card processor (Square) keeps a fee (about 3%) on all sales
20% to the 48 Hour Film Project Seattle
Remainder to you! FilmTrade is not charging any retailer/merchant fees for this special event, as part of its partnership with the 48 Hour Film Project Seattle.
We will ask you to connect a Stripe account for receiving your payout, which will allow us to send the proceeds directly to your bank account. It may take 6-8 weeks after the event for the payments to get delivered through this process.
-
Any of your cards remaining after the Seattle events are over can be picked up locally, or can be shipped domestically (inside the U.S.) to any address you wish ($15 shipping/handling will be deducted from the sales proceeds if shipping is required).
